Thanksgiving

I love Thanksgiving in Deer Valley! Every other year when we're with my family we all go to Deer Valley. I was hoping there would be snow, but there wasn't much. The condo's have kitchens and we bring everything and cook it up there. We had fabulous food and played fun games. The kids love it. We went on walks, watched movies and took great naps!! Well at least Jared did. The kids made cute paper turkey with their shoes and hands. They turned out so cute! I will post a pic when I get one. I love my family so much! It was hard to leave and come back to Roosevelt :(

More Boston

We walked the freedom trail in Boston. It's so crazy! All of the historical buildings are all throughout the city surrounded by skyscrapers and all the new stuff. It was so cool to see the cemetary where Paul Revere was burried. WE also saw his house and the Old North Church where he shined his lantern. Such a cool city!

Boston

My sister-in-law Anna took us to Salem where they had witch stuff. It was cool to see but pretty creepy. I'm so glad I didn't live back then and at that place! It was cool to see some old homes and pilgrim history.

We went to the Boston temple. It was so pretty. We took a little trail from their church up to the temple. It made me think of the Sacred Grove because it was so wooded and quiet and beautiful!

J's B-day!!

J turned 28 on September 30th. He is such a wonderful husband and father. I am so lucky to have him!! WE celebrated his birthday with his family. His mom cooked a fabulous meal and made his favorite cake! Thanks Nancy! I love my family!

Politics Schmolitics....

I know it's a bit iffy to talk politics, especially without offense to someone so I haven't this far, but I feel strongly about this election and was impressed by a letter the First Presidency sent. So in church this past Sunday our Bishop read a letter from the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It urged all church members to get educated about the candidates. Then depending on your own views and who you feel more strongly about make that decision and pray about it. Most of all they counseled us to vote. I thought this was so great. I personally was bummed about the 2 candidates in the first place, but after listening to debates and researching myself, I am most definetely voting for Senator McCain. This again is my personal opinion, and I just really don't think Senator Obama stands for good things. He puts down traditional family values and in my opinion his view on abortion shows his disregard for a human life. Also what I find disturbing is the fact that he wants to teach sex education in elementary school. These are very liberal views which I know MUCH of the world agrees with, and many of my dear liberal friends and family :) It is something I Tauni the conservative repulican, don't. I hope we can all take the time to find for ourselves whom we feel is the best candidate for us. That is the beauty of living in this free country. Sorry if I offended any of you, but again something I feel strongly about. I listed this link for those of you who would like some basic info on the 2 candidates and where they stand.

Fabulous Fall!

Yesterday we drove over the Alpine Loop and went to Cascade Springs. I love this time of year! The canyon is so beautiful! I'm so greatful to live in such a beautiful state. If you live in Utah and haven't been up in the mountains yet, you've got to go soon!!

The kids had fun trying to drink out of the drinking fountain. Especially Gavin. It was one of those that shoots up high and he though it was great!

2 days left!!! Protect Our Children Act

Senate Bill S 1738—The PROTECT Our Children Act: ACT NOW! We only have until Sept. 26
I don't know if any of you watched Oprah a few weeks ago, and if you didn't.... Don't. It is EXTREMELY disturbing and absolutely disgusting. I won't go into details but it was about child and infant pornography, rape, and molestation, caught on tape. They showed how many people are involved and to what extent. You would NOT BELIEVE how many sick and twisted scum bags are out there harming so many innocent infants and children.... most of them their own children, and posting them on the internet for the sick and twisted friends to watch in delight. The numbers were seriously scary. This is something I feel so strongly about, but it takes more than just hating that it's happening. We have to use our voices and take action on this one.
Bottom line there are so many out there and there are not enough people to help stop this. If our Senate passes Bill S 1738 we will get the funding to put these guys behind bars. Right now we simply do not have the resources to do this, so these innocent children are suffering everyday.
You can help, but you have to HURRY!
_____________________________________________
Here is what you need to do:
1) visit http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm to find out who your senator is (choose your state from the drop down menu at the top)
2. Click on their "webform" link. This will allow you to send them an email. It also states their number if you would like to call.
3. You can write your own letter or you can use this form letter to get the message across:
Dear Senator:
I know that you believe, like I do, that we must do everything possible to protect children from sexual predators. That is why I am asking for your help.
Last year alone, U.S. law enforcement identified over 300,000 criminals who were trafficking in movies and pictures of young children being raped and tortured. Experts say that one in every three of these criminals has local child victims. Child pornography trafficking over the Internet has given us a trail of evidence that leads straight to their doorsteps, but the vast majority of these children will never be rescued because investigators are overwhelmed, outnumbered and underfunded.
As your constituent, I urge you to do everything in your power to pass the PROTECT Our Children Act (S. 1738, Biden-Hatch). This bipartisan legislation passed the House 415-2, but it is now the victim of petty partisan politics.
Now that we know where these children are and how to protect them, there is no excuse for the Senate to fail to take action this session.
(Your name here)

4. PRESS SEND. It is that easy. When they see that millions of mothers are extremely adament about this, it will help get the ball rolling.

If you didn't see Oprah, just take my word for it, it was awful. You have 15 seconds to spare, and that is all it takes.

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday....

Okay so I desperately need some help. Most of you know my husband is in the Bishopric. So far it's been pretty easy with the kids in Sacrament meeting by myself. Well Livi is really starting to be a stinker, espeically because our church time is right during her usual nap time. So yesterday I had one of those days where both kids were awful!!!! Livi colors for a minute, but quickly gets distracted, and Gavin has no interest in coloring. He's gotten too loud with the toy trucks, and snacks just seem to go everywhere but in their mouths, sugar would do, but I really don't want to pump my kids full of the stuff. Needless to say Livi kept screaming and having tantrums, Gavin kept laughing when she would and for some reason it makes him hyper... she's scooting underneath the benches and I am running after Gavin and taking him potty. Several people came up to me after sacrament and said "you should sit by us next week" that's how bad it was.
I am NOT very creative, and am fresh out of sacrament meeting ideas. I would love input on what you do with your kids, or if you have heard of any good ideas, PLEASE comment!

12 weeks and counting.....

The rumors are true...we're expecting again! YAAAAA-WHOOOOO! I feel so lucky and so blessed. I love my little ones and can't wait to welcome a new one into our home. There is nothing I love more than being a mother. Gavin is so excited and wants a little brother so he can share a "cwimer bed" with him. That's his version of bunk bed, because he has to"cwime" up top. His cousins have one and he thinks it's the coolest!
